Trudon Ex Voto

Discovered in Syria in the 1850s, this ex-voto, likely an offering to a Syrian deity, bears the dedication Prokla en ex-voto, meaning For herself or her house, to dedicate. The original is housed in the Louvre, and Trudon, in collaboration with the Réunion des Musées Nationaux, presents reproductions in various colored waxes. Adorned with a wick, this ex-voto pays homage to the candle's primary function, although these wax sculptures are meant for collection rather than use. In collaboration with The Plaster Cast Workshop of the Rmn - Grand Palais.
