About Astier de Villatte

Founded in Paris in 1996 by Ivan Pericoli and Benoît Astier de Villatte, Astier de Villatte is known for its handmade ceramics, inspired by 18th- and 19th-century decorative arts.

Each piece is handmade in Paris from black terracotta clay and finished with the house's signature milky white glaze. The glaze is slightly translucent, allowing the dark clay to show through in places and giving the surface its characteristic uneven, off-white appearance.

Small variations in shape, colour and finish are part of the charm of Astier de Villatte ceramics. The traces of the maker's hand are meant to be seen, and no two pieces are exactly alike.
